The brief

Stuart Wills has been plumbing for over thirty five years, a good part of that assessing insurance claims. He knows what a burst flexi hose does to a house because he has stood in the aftermath of plenty of them.

The difficulty is that almost nobody wakes up wanting a flexi hose inspection. People arrive at FlexiPro in one of three states. Something has already burst and there is water across the floor. An insurer or a body corporate has told them to get the hoses checked. Or they have read that a failed hose pushes 300 to 600 litres an hour at mains pressure and started wondering about the ones under their own sink.

Two of those three are standing up, on a phone, in a hurry. The site had to work for them, not for a browsing audience.

What it had to do

Turn that moment of concern into a booked job, with nothing falling through the gap in between. In practice that came down to three things.

Make acting easy. The booking action is reachable from every screen and the phone number is one tap away on mobile, because for a good share of visitors the right outcome is a call, not a form.

Earn trust quickly. Three real failure stories, one residential, one commercial, one strata, because the risk stays abstract until you read about the couple who came home from a caravan trip to months of repairs. Property managers and insurance get their own paths, since neither is buying what a homeowner is buying.

Send every enquiry somewhere it gets actioned. Which turned out to be the part that mattered most.

Enquiries land where the work happens

The enquiry form posts straight into Ascora, the job management system the business already runs on.

This is what decides whether a website earns its keep. A lead that arrives in Ascora becomes a job someone schedules. A lead that arrives in an inbox waits for somebody to notice it, and by then the person who sent it has usually rung the next plumber on the list.

Built to stay out of the way

Astro, served from Azure Static Web Apps. No CMS to break, no plugins to patch on a Tuesday, no monthly licence quietly renewing. It loads fast on a phone on mobile data, which is where most of these visitors are.

We host it, monitor it, and send Stuart a plain English report each month. Not a dashboard to interpret. A page that tells him how many people came, how many tried to book, and whether anything needed attention.
